New Historic Environment Resource

Highland council has launched a new web resource with a huge amount of information on local historic sites, including some great stuff for Skye.  The map interface is probably the easiest way to access it.

Because this guide includes only those things of which I have first hand experience, and I live on Skye, there is no information here on hotel accommodation, B&Bs, or cottage rentals.

The best advice I can give is to look at the listings on  the Scottish Tourist Board's website, Visit Scotland. Search for Skye and you will find a pretty comprehensive list of the places that are worth your consideration. In times past, when I came to the Highlands and Islands on holiday, I always found the Scottish Tourist Board's star rating system to be a reliable indicator of what to expect. I think it is still the best resource to help you decide where to stay when you are visiting Skye.
