Vanilla Skye was once a small business making and retailing chocolates in Portree. Then, in 2006, they relocated to a larger shop to Portree's main shopping area, Wentworth Street, and reinvented their concept as 'Vanilla Skye and....'

The hand-made chocolates are still there, now joined by an expanding range of other local produce.  That range seems to change from week to week, but it's always worth a look to see what's in stock. Bread, cakes, preserves, pickles, ice cream, smoked scallops, venison and duck, local salad vegetables, sausages, steaks........ "and...."

I guess that's where the name comes from.
