Roadworks in Glen Varragill

Phase 3 of the roadworks in Glen Varragill is under way, right in time for the start of the visitor season. There will be disruption until mid-July.
Allow some extra time when driving between Sligachan and Portree.

Travel to and around Skye

It's not Concorde landing, or a low pass from a Spitfire on full chat, or Isambard's SS Great Britain -but no matter how often I see it, the sight of one of the big CalMac ferries on the move never fails to stir some emotion. Those of you who know this part of the world will understand what I mean...

	Caledonian MacBrayne CalMac operates ferry services throughout the Hebrides, including the link between Mallaig on the Scottish mainland and Armadale on Skye.
	The Glenelg to Kylerhea Ferry "The preferred crossing for the discerning traveller..." Highly recommended. (summer only)
	Citylink Scottish Citylink runs regular coach services between Skye and Glasgow (including Glasgow Airport) and between Skye and Inverness.
	Rapsons Rapsons is a bus and coach operator serving the north of Scotland. Their timetable for Skye is 'Area 4' on the Rapsons website.
	Flights There are direct flights to Inverness Airport from a number of UK cities, including London. Details do vary frequently, so it's best to check the latest information here.
