Walking is one of the reasons for which many people visit Skye. The range of walks is huge, from a quiet stroll in the woods to the ascent of a Munro. Wherever you choose to stetch your legs, you'll almost certainly find some wonderful scenery.

Here are walks categorised as 'strolls', 'moderate', and 'stretching'. Of course, you may find what I call a stroll to be a major expedition, or you may think that what I judge to be stretching is nothing much at all. It depends on your fitness and experience.

Although I don't include any walks here that would frighten me under normal conditions, Skye and its hills are dangerous places and deserve great respect. The weather is fickle and can be dramatic. • Strolls  ( 12 items )
These are short walks that are easy to navigate and are largely on tracks or paths.
  • Moderate  ( 25 items )
More than a stroll - but less than stretching!
  • Stretching  ( 7 items )
You'll need to be reasonably fit to manage these - even in fair weather. Be prepared!
