In Ord there is a private house with an interesting garden. The owner allows public access to the garden at most times. The house is called An Acarsaid, and is found near the shore at NG617131. Entry is by a gate at the bottom corner of the garden and a marked path will guide you around. There are some steep steps. Among the more obscure treasures to be found is this:

Skeleton of an Each Uisge Earballach (Long-tailed Water Horse)
The sign by it reads: “This is the only known example of this rare beast – a distant relative of the better known Monstra Nessium. ......This specimen was stranded at an exceptionally low tide in 1967.”
Less obscure is the two acre garden with its excellent collection of alpine and other plants, all blessed with a dramatic view across Loch Aishort to the Cuillin. Close to the owner's house you will find a box for charitable donations.
