Looking down to Portree from Bealach Cumhang

In Portree with an hour or two to spare for some exercise? No path here, but a good stretch of the legs with a rewarding view.

Get to NG496448 at the bend in the public road in Torvaig. From there, go through the gate and follow the farm track north and you will come to a memorial (marked on the OS 1:25,000 map) to the Nicholsons of Scorrybreac. Beyond that is a gate through which you access the steep climb to the summit. If you have time there is good, if exposed, walking to be enjoyed along the edges of the cliffs to the east of the summit.

Did you know?

The Skye Bridge cost £25m to construct. It opened in 1995 and the controversial tolls were abolished in December 2004.
