The café is the front part of the Caledonian Hotel on Wentworth Street in Portree. In there is served what is probably the best traditional breakfast in Portree. They do a decent egg, sausage, bacon or lorne roll, and a few other bits and pieces such as croissants. But it's the full breakfast that makes it worth a visit. It's freshly cooked, it's well cooked and it's served with toast, coffee and a smile.
At lunchtime you'll find a wide enough choice that everyone should find something to tempt them. And the evening menu is very good too. The ambiance - necessarily - is still basic 'café', but a few candles and beautifully presented food more than compensate. Great value too. It's open all year round.
